The Build-up and the Reaffirmation

In the build-up to the Villa game, different reports circulated linking the Portuguese international with a likely departure from Old Trafford. The reports gained momentum after a widely spread speculation that new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was open to receiving offers for all senior players as a key component of a possible summer overhaul. As the club captain and one of the team’s best players this season, Bruno became a central figure in the discussion.

However, after the final whistle and victory against Villa, Bruno Fernandes cleared the atmosphere by disclosing his plans during an interview with MUTV. The sensational midfielder openly expressed his gratitude and pride in being a Red Devil.

“It is just the way I deal with things, I want to help as much as I can. I am just living my dream,” said Fernandes.

“(I am) just a very lucky guy who is living his dream in one of the best clubs in the world, in the best league in the world. What more can I ask?

“I just have to give it my all, for my team-mates, for myself, for my fans and for everyone who has been through every moment with me. That’s all.” United Captain added

The passion of Bruno and his contribution to the team have always been visible to many, and his latest statements are expected to be largely welcomed by the fans, who view him as an important player in the team for the future.

Bruno Fernandes, playing in the Villa game, made significant contributions that made the team composed and dominant in the victory. However, despite United’s playing the game with nothing at stake, they displayed a renewed energy and cohesion after the recent defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League Final, which Bruno didn’t fail to mention in his statements.

“Obviously, I think more than the win is the performance that we put in.

“You could see the team playing football with great personality, showing off all the qualities that we have and all the things that we have been working on during the season.

“It was easy today for us to do that because we were not playing for anything in this game in particular. We gave off a different image and a different image during this campaign.”

As the club plans for a summer of transition under Ratcliffe’s inspection, Fernandes’ comments of being committed could be the much-needed force to achieve better results next campaign.
