Cole Palmer was arguably Chelsea\u2019s best player last season. He also had a great outing with the Three Lions in the recently concluded Euros 2024, where England lost in the finals to Spain. This was their second loss in two finals, following their defeat by the Italian national team in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reports indicate that Chelsea is ready to give Cole Palmer<\/a> a raise in salary after his impressive performance during the previous season of 2023-24. To all this, the Blues are optimistic that they can retain the young and talented player for the next decade.<\/span><\/p>\n

Palmer was signed by Chelsea last summer for a 42 deal. From Manchester City, there are an estimated 5 million. He agreed to a seven-year deal with an option in the final year to make it eight, and the weekly wage was \u00a380,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

First, there were concerns regarding the amount of money invested into the City Academy graduate who was managing to get some playing time under Pep Guardiola<\/a>. But within a year, Palmer rose to the challenge and produced some outstanding performances for the West London club. He finished the next season of 2023-24 on top of the club\u2019s goal-scoring chart with the club scoring 27 goals and 15 assists in 48 matches across the seasons<\/span><\/p>\n

After an exceptional debut season at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea wants to reward Palmer with a wage increase. Instead of signing a new contract, the club plans to privately alter the terms of his existing deal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Revealing to The Telegraph, the source said \u201cChelsea expect Cole to be at the club for the next 10 years. So of course they will look after him and make sure his wages reflect his performance. There is no need to do that publicly or with grand announcements. The club will work with Cole and his representatives, rather than doing their business in public.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Palmer didn’t start many games for England, but he was still able to show his undoubted talent and form at the Euro 2024<\/a>. He assisted on the game-winning goal against the Netherlands in the semifinals and scored a stunner at the final match against Spain to earn praise from ex-internationals and club legends including Gary Cahill who said\u00a0 “He was phenomenal last season”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gary Cahill who is a former Chelsea defender praised Cole Palmer for his performances last season. The retired center-back admitted he did not expect the 22-year-old to have such an impact in his debut season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The former Chelsea star believes Palmer had a magnificent debut campaign at Stamford Bridge. Said according to The Chelsea Chronicle \u201cI think no one really maybe expected his impact to be as big as it was straight away. He obviously comes from the pedigree of Man City, obviously he\u2019s used to the league a bit more than others. But ability-wise, he was phenomenal last season.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Cahill had a successful career at Stamford Bridge, spending seven and a half seasons with the Blues. The Englishman made 290 appearances, contributing 25 goals and six assists.
